WHAT DO I FEED A CHICK SILKIE?

Ok, well in a pinch they can have a scrambled egg for a day.

But you need something like real chick feed asap.

Do you have pet stores in your area? What kinds of animal feeds do they sell?

But also, what are you gonna do with this one lone silkie chick? Chickens do very poorly on their own, they need other chickens. And if you hatched it, what if it's a boy? Will you/your neighbors tolerate it crowing? Just thinking about the future here.

I’d bring that chick right back to the farmer , it won’t thrive all alone and if you haven’t prepared at all for this? It isn’t going to go well .... good luck

A large bird (parrot) feed ground fine mixed 1-1 with a scrambled egg might be a good place to start if there are absolutely no chicken food options for you. It wont be good, it may not thrive, but it might be enough for a bit while you figure out something better.

You need 18% protein and most pet bird foods have trouble reaching that. Plus the fat tends to be higher than a chick needs. So mixing with an egg is a good start.

A brooder, and a friend, are musts for this chick. It needs to be kept at 95*F (around 36C) for the first week or two. You can get the supplies this at a pet store. It's going to be an awfully stressed out chickie without a freind, especially when you aren't actively caring for it. It will SCREAM, constantly. I know. I have kept a single chick before and it was bad. :/
