What Do Y'all Think Would Happen if My Black Australorp Roo and Salmon Faverolles Hen Had A Chick?

Sorry to hear about your chick loss, @whitewolf1871341 . It's crazy to hear about blizzards since were still getting up to the 70s in the smoky mountains.

Thank you for that I was very sad as I had a set of twins and I had never seen twins hatch before but I'm so greatful for the little one that hatched this morning

Here is a pic from a few mins ago when I got home from work it's so tiny it has a little bit of feathers on its legs and is multi colored

I know...a little bit about genetics but nothing super super serious, so I'm curious if anyone has any experience crossing Black Australorps with Salmon Faverolles. Ideally, I'd love a fluffy goth bird with the personality of a Faverolles (they're so funny omg) and the laying ability of an Australorp. But I've never actually bred my own chickens and this is just a fun experiment I'm considering. My Australorp rooster is the absolute best rooster in the universe (unless you're a dog...in which case he's not happy about your presence) and has shown some interest in my Faverolles so it doesn't seem impossible for it to happen!

Thoughts?
So I had a hatchling today that is a little tri color with fuzzy feet and it it so small and adorable

Very cute. Thanks for the pm. I didn't say in the long message. Hopefully not too long. I like making cross breeds. I plan to mix RiR rooster with SLW silver laced Wyandotte and Buff orplingtons. BO. So can I keep you updated when they are grown up. They are 3 week old babies now.

I have both silver and gold laced also sapphire gems, salmon fevs, black star, and a little delaware then asolorpe too and a lavender orpington roo aswell

I’ve been searching for any info on Australorp-Faverolle hybrids—I actually have several, but only know what I’ve learn from the young birds I’ve recently hatched on 10/15/20. (This clutch of eggs was salvaged from a raccoon-ransacked coop. Two hens survived, but all my other hens and rooster didn’t.)

As for appearances: Everyone’s guesses seemed to be pretty close to the real results, but honestly, these birds are really surprising to say the least. Except:
-They all 5 toes
-All have fluffy legs (some more than others)
BUT every bird is a different color pattern! Two chicks were born yellow, four were born black. All the black chicks are a black variant, and the two yellow chicks have filled out with brown/white/black feathers. I still can’t differentiate between hens and Roos.

My Salmon Faverolle rooster fathered all of them but the mothers could have been either Australorp (highly likely because of the coloring) or Salmon Faverolle (maybe the lighter chicks). There’s obvious mixes.

I’d love to see what other Austra-Favers hybrids look like. And if anyone wants to try there hand at figuring out what’s going with all these crazy genes, I would appreciate the input. :)

The lighter chicks are purebred faverolles. As for the rest, I hope you’ll update this thread as they grow. They look pretty similar to a suspected faverolle cross I had and one I still have. Though the one I currently have is bantam sized.
