We have 8 laying hens. We eat some of the eggs, give some to the closest neighbor, and I feed the rest as scrambled eggs to the chickens every evening. They free range and when they see me coming with the plate, they know to all go into their run. This way I get them in about an hour earlier than they would go in on their own without a bribe.

I'm getting up to 10 eggs a day and am quickly running out of options for what to do with them. Short of chucking them, that is.

My friends are all stocked up, we are sick of eating eggs and now we have a backlog in the 20's. So, what are some things you guys do to use up those extra eggs? Today's basket (from yesterday and today)

We get 9 eggs a day usually and like you we are tired of eating them all the time. My wife and I both take eggs to work and give them away to co workers or customers. I usually save any dirty eggs (muddy from rainy days or pooped on) and scramble them and feed them to the chickens.

From what i can see if you have fewer tham 150 birds you can sell eggs from your farm with very little effort. Also i would highly recommend you check your local food pantries and churches before you throw them out. There are people who live paycheck to paycheck and would love to have them. Refrigerated eggs keep longer and the above instructions specify they must be refrigerated.
I sell and donate eggs and use the oldest ones for my family, and in 30 years have never cracked open one that was bad.
Thank you for sharring your bounty with those less fortunate and blessed with excess!

We use about 18 to 20 eggs a week for eating, baking and cooking with. We give away another dozen or two a week to a friend.
We are throwing about 5 Or 6 dozen a week away. I would like to sell some or give to someone who is in need , but I'm afraid people could sue us or we could get in trouble if anyone got sick after eating them.
You should feed them back to your birds instead of throwing them away or if you have a dog, scramble some up for your dog.

Keep fewer birds. :D
I sell to a few folks, selling to the public can make everything exponentially complicated.
It has stayed pretty well in balance, but now I have 8dz eggs in the fridge,
should have sold a few birds last fall and will try to sell some here soon.
Too many eggs is another form, or consequence, of 'chicken math'.
