Eggs for sale I wash and put in cartons, then refrigerate. Eggs for me I leave on the counter in an egg basket, unwashed. Because I'm lazy and have limited fridge space.

On the counter until the puppy found out that is where I keep snacks. After 2 "self help snacks", I moved them to the hanging basket. Don't wash unless requested. I downsized when the customers weren't regular and will probably keep a smaller flock. The egg sales were a hassle, but helped with feed bill. The family was upset. They were getting the ones that didn't sell.

I usually clean them off then put them in my cartons to sell. I get about 60 eggs a day so I would have to have my own fridge just for chickens! And that doesn’t include my ducks... I get about 22 from them everyday. About 10 duck eggs I feed to the flock the rest go in my stomach or farmers market. Or my dog eats them lol. I prefer duck eggs to chicken eggs anyway

My flock size is constrained by coop size, but 3-4 regular customers, all friends, and a few more that will take overflow is about perfect. 1 of my customers is a snow bird, which works out quite well.

We leave them out on the counter until we are ready to eat them. God put a special protective shield, or covering, over the egg. As long as it isn't washed it doesn't need refrigeration. Once washed, the protective coating is gone and the egg must be put in the fridge. Then before eating, we wash them off, as I tell others what to do with them. You can leave them out for several weeks. In my house, they don't usually make it past 2 weeks, however I know people that have left theirs out on the counter for as much as 4 months.
