What do you gather eggs in?! Pics?

Right now I am getting my eggs in the bucket that I bring their food in since I only get 2-3 eggs a day. But I have a wire basket shaped like a chicken but its to big, though I will be getting more chicks soon so I'm thinking of getting the wire basket from Tractor Supply.

[QUOTE=" I use this hand woven basket my sister made years ago to carry up to 4 cartons if I deliver. [/QUOTE] That would sure take out that extra step of cartoning eggs back at the house.

didn't know it was vintage!

I bought this nice little wicker basket at a thrift store. I really like the wire baskets too.
My chicks are only a month old, so I haven't tested it. I think it should hold six eggs (we have six chickens)

I've got this deal. They are advertised as egg baskets and AKA golf range ball baskets. This one is too tall /big for my 9 hens. I will never fill it in one day. I've looked at the smaller ones which are more appropriate. Sometimes if I let the egg drop in the basket just a little bit it will crack the egg on the firm wire. I like it...but usually eggs are collected twice a day in my carhart pockets.

I use baskets like these as well. I keep a clean towel in the bottom of each and grab one when I send the kids out to collect eggs. (I use old cloth diapers like the ones that you use for burp rags for babies) They look nice when empty when they are just hanging in the mudroom and they can hold lots of eggs.

Our 4 girls started laying in the middle of winter, and we never got around to using anything permanent for the task! Winter coat pockets worked, but now that it's spring I think I'll invest in a cute wire basket, lol :)

Any sturdy basket from a thrift store. I have 2 at the back entrance. They hold my chicken gloves, a quart yogurt container full of sunflower seeds to distract the roosters and hens, a quart yogurt container with a pencil in it for marking the eggs I'm saving to hatch, and then the rest of the space in the basket is for the eggs I collect. Sometimes there's a golf ball (nest egg) in there because I've accidentally collected it.

I have broken eggs in my basket. Luckily, spraying the basket off doesn't seem to affect it all that much, if at all. (Yay!)

Have I collected eggs in my pockets? Of course. I have a coat or jacket, depending on the season, that I wear for egg collecting so I'm not ever risking a nice coat. However, I put my phone and/or iPod in my pockets often when I'm out doing the chores, etc. While I have broken pocket eggs on both a phone and an iPod, the phone survived and only the iPod died a horrible death.
