What do you guys think of these prints?

SSS...................... they make a great rug................If fish and wildlife won't or can't help get in contact with a trapper....with a catch that great they may do it for free.....either way get it in gear now and do something......waiting is just the start of mourning and regret....

My DH swears it is a mountain lion we had one crossing each morning where our kids caught the school bus. Everyone was very concerned because there are stories, tales, rumors of mountain lions that will track humans and they are known to take down deer, antelope, small elk. The neighbor found someone who had dogs traing to trak cats these people get somekind of permit to hunt these cats and they were happy for the opportunity to work their dogs. They hunted this cat and we have not had any problems since. Maybe you could find someone in your area who has hunting dogs who would be willing to come out and look at your problem for you. Good Luck Sorry about your losses and hope this issue resolves quickly.

It looks like a large cat print to me. It probably is a mountain lion. The Game and Fish people will deny up and down that there are mountain lions in your area. The truth be told, they probably planted them there.

The nature freaks seem to want all sorts of predators returned. They don't give a dooley about human life; they are only concerned about their pet projects. I bet the game camera will show that these critters have radio collars on them.

If you shoot the darn things, you probably will end up in jail forever.

The feds reintroduced the Mexican wolf to western New Mexico and eastern Arizona. Then they went around threatening people that they would rot in prison it they killed one of their wolves. You had better let them eat your wife and kids before you harmed their wolves.

Ah, but they assured everyone that these were kinder, gentler vegetarian wolves. They wouldn't attack people. If these animals are so safe, why weren't they reintroduced into Washington, D. C. and New York City?

The jaguar is another issue. Google Jaguar, Arizona and Macho B. You won't believe it.

I am sorry but wolves are usually scared of people and will avoid humans. I am sure that fish and wildlife did not plant mountain lions in the area. I did a research paper on the reintroduction of wolves to Yellowstone. These wolves stay away from humans. I still say the print is that of a mountain lion. I would get a game cam and catch them on film then call fish and wildlife. Good luck. Hope you don't lose any animals.

I think if you want to take a chance with wolves, go ahead. Personally, I won't. Let's see if you survive.

FYI There is not now, nor has there ever been, any wildlife organization that has reintroduce mountain lions to new habitat. This is one of the big myths that pops up on occasion in just about every state. That doesn't mean they may not be straying into new territory or returning to old but the fish and game departments aren't responsible.

I'm in central Oklahoma. Just east of Oklahoma City. Technically, I'm still in the city limits.

Just for the info
What To Do If You Encounter A Mountain Lion

* Pick all children up off the ground immediately.
* Do NOT approach the lion
* Stay calm. Talk calmly and move slowly.
* Face the lion and remain in an upright position.
* Do not turn your back on the lion. Back away slowly.
* Do NOT run.
* Do all you can to enlarge your image. Do NOT crouch down or try to hide
* IF the lion is aggressive, throw rocks, sticks, or anything you can get your hands on.
* If the lion attacks, fight back. Fighting back can drive off lions.

Still looking for a good map but can't seem to find one, will update again if I do. Kim
This is about all I can find for your area, apparently your DNR or outdoor servicing agents are not bright enough to make a map, or even admit to their exsistance without some arm twisting, its also quite clear from what I have read, THERE IS DEFINITELY COUGARS IN CENTRAL OKLAHOMA !! Hope they move on and quit messing around your area, but if they stay I'm hoping they don't cause you more or more serious trouble. Good Luck Traci and well wishes for you and yours.
