What do you hate about where you live

Mud Season (not looking forward to cleaning out the RUN)
POLITICIANS calling for over a week before tomorrows Primary...I've gotten 5 calls daily from Obama, Hillary, McCain, Huckabee and Edwards and at least 3-4 visits to MY DOOR daily!
Anti Tax movement here in NH.
And last but NOT least...
People from New Hampshire that truly BELIEVE they are Colonial Patriots! These people have never been out of NH...there is a whole other country out there and A LOT bigger than this little state.

Other than that...I love the simplicity movement here in NH.

I hate the rain, I hate all the rednecks, I hate the fact that it was my idea to leave my old town and move here, I hate the fact that its not till September that I can move home again! I hate the housing market, cause i won't move if it doesn't improve. I only bought the house year ago but I can't take a beating on the sale. Luckily I bought it way under market value. Otherwise I think I'd be screwed. Otherwise it just the rain and the rednecks.

I hate the fact that there is a pink elephant being built across the road from me!!!! 18 yrs of privacy gone down the toilet. I won't be able to cut the cheese without them hearing me do it!!!!

I'm super lucky. Love my town. We really are in the middle of nowhere.

But- this is not a state to get rich in. No jobs, and the ones avail. don't pay enough to pay bills. Very little opportunity for young people (ran into it when I was fresh out of school.. my kids probably won't stay).

The SNOW AND THE COLD! I agree, Angie. It's been CRAZY this year. Dh had to do an emergency fix on the chix coop because the ceiling in the run was threatening to collapse.

Mostly I hate stupid things: idiot alter. dog catcher who lives 3 house down from me.. and lets his pack of 7 dogs run loose. Jerk across the street who NEVER EVER shovels the mailbox and so we have to do it EVERY SINGLE STORM. Price of heating oil is so crazy we'll all be eating rice come spring, just to keep warm (hate to think of the elderly on tiny pensions trying to make it this winter). The fact that there is only 3 restaurants (if you consider McD, a pizza joint, and a chinese restaurant) within 10mi of here.. have to drive 45min when you want anything interesting. THE TOURISTS! Don't they teach these people to DRIVE?? (honestly, our economy needs them, but is it really necessary to tailgate, cut people off, and don't people use BLINKERS anymore??)

And high on my list: the nasty paper and wood industries that want to clearcut all our beautiful northern woods to build condos, resorts, hotels because it'll be 'good' for us.

I knew I'd have to qualify that. I don't really mean redneck. Most people back east would probably think I'm a redneck. I mean the ignorant trash that lives around me that would rather try to steal things out of your yard than work. yeah I don't really mean redneck I think white trash is a better word.

My first would be the WIND! Then can't even think about planting a garden until June,first frost around September.No spring or fall. 2 seasons-winter and road construction. I hate the big wage difference between men and women,the 12 year drought we've been having,if you're a rancher,the law doesn't apply to you the way it does to everyone else. I hate the way that they're pumping all of our underground water out on the ground to collect methane gas(waste one resource to collect another). How Wyoming is becoming suburban Colorado. Theres probably more,but I'm feeling in an expansive mood right now. so I'd say these are the ones that rank the highest.

White trash is definitely a better word than redneck for those kind of people. I was a city kid all growing up and now I'm a redneck and proud of it! (It was a lifestyle change)

I do not love the fact that 3 farms out our back field have been sold and are being developed with huge!!!! houses being built. Now they are closing our small country elementary school to save $$ and all of those children are being bussed to the city. And the fact that tax payers paid 1.5 million to update said school in the last 2 years.
