What do you keep Quail for??

I raise quail so I can wrap them in bacon and throw em; on the grill.

Delicious. We use our Coturnix for eggs, meat, fun genetics, and just because it's a nice little side-hobby.

Now
, when you've got a pan of those sittin' beside that big ol' CorningWare dish of Bobwhites that have been fried and steamed in the oven (where they might-near fall off the bone) smothered in gravy you made from drippins' from fryin' the birds in the ol' cast iron skillet, and add some "real" creamed taters (peelin' & all), or maybe some rice drowned in butter, and yeah, some good ol' hominey........and a big ol' glass or 3 of sweet tea..........

Y'all can have your Chinese, Japanese, Mexican, Logans Roadhouse, Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster, whatever........ I'll take the above anyday, and everyday

For those of us who have to avoid carbs, a nice plate of quail leg quarters prepared buffalo style (fried and then dipped in hot sauce and melted butter) is a much safer option.
