what do you LIKE about Christmas?

I love sitting on the couch sick as a dog from eating too much turkey and dressing. Christmas evening with family and loved ones, hearing the kids talking and happy, watching the grandbaby playing, watching our English bulldog making the rounds making sure she hasn't missed out on any petting. And knowing I have a roof over my head, food on the table, a wife that loves me, kids that turned out well, wood in the heater, a job that pays the bills, and the pleasure of living in a country where it's all possible.

just knowing I'm the luckiest man alive.

It was wonderful when I was a kid. The older I get though, I become less thrilled with it, especially since my children are grown, married, and gone. Next year I'll probably be saying, "Bah, humbug!"

Everybody I know likes fruitcake. Loaded with fruit and drenched in Rum.

I think if you were lost in the woods with a fruitcake and a tin of sardines you could survive for quite awhile

I love fruitcake. All I can imagine is that someone made an all peel cake that gave all of the rest of them a bad name.

Ah, you would SO love my Christmas tree!

I think the "designer" trees all done in monotones, or the ones with all one color ornaments, or white with blue, white with red/gold, etc. can be quite pretty, but my absolute favorites are the ones you mentioned -- trees with all types and varieties of ornaments. I have many that have sentimental significance such as the beautiful carved shell ornament I got in the Bahamas on my first ever real vacation, some that my older sister has given me (a beautiful mirrored heart & a pair of miniature crocheted ballet slippers), the glass steamboat ornament some dear friends gave my DH (the lady has passed away now), my Old World Christmas ornaments in Fox w/ Goose, Cat in Slipper, Cauliflower (which is GORGEOUS and looks a lot like a big magnolia blossom!), fish, etc., ... well, you get the idea. I've got lots of different cat ornaments, lots of Nativity scene ones, a whole collection of Jurgen Scholtz (sp ?) cat capers ornaments, .... I love Christmas! Mostly I love Christmas because it reminds us of the very best Gift of all -- Someone cared enough about us to give His life for us so we wouldn't have to be separated forever from a loving God.

I even hang keychains from mine! I buy them when I travel, specifically to put them on the tree.

I think there is a post for those who DON"T like christmas this is not the place.

I've got GC's in another state and a DD too. I still like Christmas cuz I have friends who I can spend time with and eat cookies with and all that. I guarantee if you were here with us you'd love Christmas. Just get yourself a plane ticket and come and see. There is always room at the table.

Or you could do the sensible thing and invite someone to your place. I happen to know there are lots of folks who would love to be with someone else, just like you.

Prayer for you. Dear Lord give Joe Bryant a Christmas to make him smile. Amen

Gee, I'm so glad that I asked what you thought. In the first place, I never said that I don't like it; not that I need to explain that to YOU. You are RUDE, PRESUMPTUOUS, and POMPOUS beyond belief.
ETA You know what you can do with your supposed prayer.

I'm looking forward to my grand-daughter getting a little older so we can bake a cake for Baby Jesus Christmas morning....then we'll sing Happy Birthday...have a slice of yummy cake and watch the kids faces light up when they open their presents.

I'm also looking forward to the and of the day when I can sit back (preferably with some sort of cocktail) and just relax.

I love everything about Christmas. I kind of get a chuckle out of the glitz and commercialization, but I don't get seriously upset about it.

Christmas is something the whole world seems to enjoy. All over the world people know about Christmas, and what it means. Most people are just a little bit better during the season. Many people do get frazzled, but it's because they're trying to do so much for their family so their family will enjoy the time.
