what do you say to your chickens when giving them attention?

I do the baby talk thing to and it's usually,

"who's my pretty girlie girls?" then I pick them up and talk to them each by name (I only have 3)
"Who's the booootiful Lady", "Who's the pretty Amelia", and "Who's my pretty blind chicken -- it's the pretty Princess"
Then when they start talking back, we have a conversation. My side usually is "Bawdabawda Bawbaw"!!!

Of course, some days it's "where's my eggs you little slackers!"

Oh good, glad I'm not the only fruitcake :D I just pity our neighbors. This is all in a really obnoxious sing song:

They answer to Birdettes, Chickadees, Girlies, Tweeties, My Big Girls - and corn! They don't answer to their names.

What I say to them:

Where are you? Don't eat that. That's not for chickens. Bawk ba-BAWK! Look at those red wattles. Did that come out of you? That's my little pooper scooper. Wow, that's a great egg, what a busy girl.

And lots more! Come to think of it, I feel a little sorry for my husband :)

my chickies are still babies. I always greet them with

Hello my little _______

Insert: peeps, peepers, darlings, chickies, peepeeps, chookies

I always remember to thank them for their beautiful eggs when I pick them. We only have 6 so it's easy to know who lays what.

LOL Stan is adorable! My pre-teen pullets want Stan posters on their run walls. If they had little chicken laptops, "Stan the Man" would be the #1 search in their google image searches

This thread is great! My first chickens ever are about 4 weeks old. I greet them every morning saying "Good morning girls!" in a high-pitched tone... I always tell them what pretty feathers they are growing, and how big and pretty they are getting. When I let them come out of their brooder to flutter around the living room, I tell them it's time for a "field trip". I then tell them they are flying so well! If I have to leave for a while, I tell them to be good and "don't invite any boys over!" I tell them to be nice to each other, and the first day we brought them home I think I said "No pecking eyeballs!" about a hundred times. Then I tell them goodnight, sleep good.
