What do you think of the new BYC platform?

I'm in awe of the fact that a lot of my privacy is being invaded with open photo albums...I don't like "Follow member" options at all...I don't like the spell check that everyone is speaking of...
I did finally go to IT to have my browser upgraded to Chrome as I need permission. Otherwise, I would never get on here because of the time it takes to do things on my original browser..I understand the need for change but this has turned out to be a drastic drastic change...

I do like the pm service and the conversations...I do like knowing who is on the threads lurking-like the swaps..lol...I don't know if I will like the auctions and how they will work... I was thrilled when it was upgraded before now it feels like it will take a huge step back...I only wish I could have stayed on when you has asked me to play in the sandbox...Maybe I wouldn't be feeling so sad...

I go to the hatching eggs for sale area and it says, "Private"... and I'm not allowed to see anything.

I hate to complain too, but this new "BYC" is just way too cluttered and too many options and buttons and ads and such. It is slow. Scrolling is near impossible. I don't see myself spending much time here anymore either. I'm with the other

folks - I'm just not into having to put in so much effort to use a chicken forum. It's too much work to be fun !!

Change is not always good, and MORE is not always better. JMO.

How do you make a poll? Shouldn't I be able to do that?

And when I'm writing in this box and I try to right click it to copy it, the only option is PASTE... same as when I right click a spelling error.

You have to use the full page editor to make a poll.......

I went to the auctions, for eggs...... and nothing? how do you post there?

That's a bug; some of the BST forums aren't working right now. But we have now added a template for you to do an auction from this system, which was set up for regular classifieds.

Feeling some disappointment as I was in the middle of reading a very long thread. Now I cannot get back to the page I was reading except by selecting pages nine or so at a time. It will take forever getting to 700. Going from the present backwards will be even longer. Am I missing something for finding my spot?

In a long thread when there is .... between some of the page numbers, click on the .... to bring up a tool that lets you select any page.

I use a ad blocker I don't see a add one.

ETA I hope they dont get the bright idea to start playing with there sister sites.

Absolutely atrocious lag, even when trying to read a thread with absolutely no pictures! Not smooth and flowing, but blocky and chunky. It feels like we just went from a well oiled machine to some rusted old piece of junk. The navigation is a bit better, but compared to before, that isn't much of a bonus. And the ads are much more IN YOUR FACE, oye.

So far I like it. As with anything that changes, it will just take a little bit of time to get used to all the new things & where they are located. Good job BYC!!!

Annoying that everyone can see my photos, in fact I'm going to delete everything and not upload again if I can't find a way to hide it. It could've been so much better; the page is slow because there's so many buttons, gidgets, and gadgets everywhere.
