it kind of makes me sad to see how many people really don't like this new BYC

or can't use it as much as they used to b/c it is so slow now. I hope those that really don't like it give it some time, maybe they will get used to it and it won't be so bad. Oh and by the way I really like the spell check as spelling is really hard for me it is nice to just have it right here now all I need is a grammar and punctuation check lol . Plus my BYC page with pics and stories of all my animals is all good so I'm relived that it is as it should be
 
the drop down works in IE9 but SOOO SLOWWWW... and it still doesn't have the quick links to PM, e-mail or website.
 
My gold feather membership appears to have disappeared too, and I just got it last month.

I love the changes to BYC, many cool options, and it does look nice. I DO appreciate all the hard work and planning that went into it.

That said, I live in a remote area where I speed internet is not an option – really, it’s not. We did get cellular internet, which gives a decent speed, but even at work where I have high speed IE 8, this is very difficult to use. I can’t leave comments to pages, reply to posts (this took a TON of tries), I just get the little moving bars like it’s trying to load. Same when I scroll over forums, I get no drop down, it just tries to load. I cannot view many pictures for some reason, only a red X, but others can view the pictures, so the picture is there. The speed of this is a major obstacle. I guess I wasn’t around when that survey took place, but like I said, it’s very challenging even on my work computer and my phone. Overall it is difficult to use.

I am certain these things will be worked on, and I don’t want to be a big complainer. I am stating this because unless HELPFUL criticism is given, we cannot fix what’s wrong. I feel that people may leave BYC if it remains this challenging to use. If it loads better and operates as intended, these options and this new look will make BYC AMAZING!!!

As for the people being mean and negative regarding the changes, PLEASE try to give helpful detailed info on what is wrong and give this a chance to be fixed. I can only imagine what a task this change was, and due to growth of BYC, I’m sure it was necessary. The new BYC has been up for less than 24 hours – let’s state what’s wrong and give our BYC staff a chance to work on it. Also, I’ve heard time and time again, changes are necessary for a social site to stay successful. As much as people complain about change, they get bored of it and will move on. This is why you find changes to social media sites so often. BYC was due for an upgrade, so let's try to appreciate all the work put into it!
