what does it mean?

sport. as in a chicken thats a sport. for instance, i read that the white rocks was developed from a barred rock sport or a barred sport. anyone have any idea what that means? thanks.

In biology it is usually used to mean an something that is quite different from the normal type or parent stock, usually because of a genetic mutation.
