What kinds of dogs are large enough not to be ‘yappy’ but wouldn’t kill chickens? I had a pair of dogs I had to give away because they were let out by neighbors and killed all of my chickens.

Great pyrenees are great LGDs. But there are many other dogs that would work.
my family has a golden retriever who wouldnt kill a chicken, she loves them. Vs my male who its all in his instinct to kill birda.

It all depends on the individual dog. And all dogs need training. I’ve seen plenty of little dogs that wouldn’t hurt a fly and plenty of large dogs kill loads of chickens.

Although there was a gorgeous dog i saw today. Looked like a samoyed mixed with a husky but i wasnt sure of the breed.
He was beautiful

Husky are gorgeous. All Nordic breeds are. Their desire to wander at times, and a high prey drive keeps me from getting another.
