I trained with the Doberman at a police training area , but later, I felt bad, they are tied to a post till it’s their turn, so there is a lot of pulling and barking, she later had a herniated disc in her neck she had to have a big operation , and had to take pain medication for the rest of her life, I fear all that pulling and jumping was bad for her neck but it is awesome when they are sent out to search all the hiding places, and also, when they take the „arm“, we started very late in her life, so she didn’t get very far cos she was too old, this training is very hard on older dogs

Now Malinois are „king“ there, the german shepherd isn’t „tough“ enough, there are still a lot out there, also, some boxers and Rottweilers. My trainer trained other people to become dog trainers, he was a very good trainer and his own dog went within a year from level one to level 3 he always said that the dog will take the training, but we had to take a lot of sh.t from him!!

That is so cool! I’d love to do that. Also that’s awful. I think a dog in that situation should be in a harness probably. Or removed.

Yes, it was, but he was the only trainer who could do it
I think he is retired now, when I was active, it was 25 years ago, I know during that time he celebrated his 50. birthday

I get an odd satisfaction with seeing any dog beat a malinois. Especially a Doberman
