It's eye opening when you "witness" something like that (I was in a different room when it happened), and why I don't take aggressive dogs lightly at all. No one saw it coming or obviously it never would happened because safeguards would've been put in place. At the end of the day, dogs are still animals and you need to be careful cause it only take once. Your face is awfully close to your neck...
I know people who are surprised they chose to still work with dogs after that.

Yeah it’s sad. Dogs can and do kill people.

Anyway, I'm derailing the thread at this point I have no burning desire rn so I'm gonna say red Affenpinscher for me today

First my boxer, than I want a rat terrier.

I don't trust any dogs but mine. It's why I only get puppies. Rescue dogs scare me because I don't know their history.

once a guy came to the vet to put their dog down. Story was he got the dog as a rescue and had had it for a few weeks I think. The dog randomly attacked him and it was pretty bad. Sent the guy to the hospital. The guy was obviously pretty banged up too. I am not saying rescues are bad. Rescues need homes too. People just need to be careful.

Totally get wanting to stick to certain breeds etc. though.

Especially since you have a pack and they need to be able to fit in LOL

Besides, so many rescues have crazy requirements now. I’m not sure you’d even be able to adopt with so many dogs. LOL

Especially since I only keep females, plus no fenced yard here.

My one is technically a rescue from an Amish puppy mill. She was in rough shape when we got her.

My "rescue" came from a breeder, the breeder my other dog came from He's a rescue in that he was neglected, not abused or anything, he has minor behaviours like crate pacing but otherwise he is actually like the sweetest dog on the planet. He's always been so well behaved at the vet too.
