Victor High Pro Plus. I get it at our feed store, or at TSC in a pinch.
When we brought Gypsy home from the shelter, I started with a high-end grain free dry food. She had constant problems with diarrhea. Experimented, switched 'em up, tried probiotics, meds, all kinds of things.
Turns out she's allergic to legumes--took us MONTHS to figure this out. Vet visits with prescriptions? Give the pills with peanut butter, sure! Except peanuts are legumes. And all the grain free dog foods use peas, garbanzo beans, and soy to make up for the grains, I guess.
Stumbled on to Victor High Pro at the pet store (was still vainly searching) and bingo. Her belly has been calm, her elimination normal and healthy, and her coat/breath are lovely. We seldom bathe her--she was abused and is mortally afraid of water--but she has no smell, even if you bury your nose right down to the skin.
