What have you done when this happens?

For those that let the broody do the work what do you do when your broody gives up in the middle of sitting on the eggs or if she leaves the nest after one or two chicks have hatched but the rest of the eggs haven't and you don't have an incubator? Is there a primitive method to still get them to hatch?

You could hold 1 in each armpit until they hatch!

Seriously though - I do not know of a way to save the eggs w/o another broody (but then she would leave her own eggs when the new ones hatch) or an incubator.

There was a member on here who hatched an egg in her bra! Crazy. But if you can't do that then maybe get a box with a heat lamp and keep some damp towels in there for moisture? Not really sure though, an incubator would really be the best bet if your broody gives up on the eggs.
