Your story is heartbreaking. I haven't lost any of my birds as I am new to having chickens. I love them as my pets and my DH thinks I'm crazy. Maybe I am.

i will shoot the dogs. I have to, I am legally allowed to, and I will. no if's, and's, or butt's. I am ok with Fracks death. It sucks, but what is done is done. Now I am just plain mad at our system. Yes, I am going to write the paper. probably just send them the begining of this thread, the part of the warden, and ask him to do his duty as a newpaper editor. I will take a lot of heat for it here in Mantua Twp., but hey, what else is new????

If i could get the dogs into my car, i would 'relocate' them. but the dogs would bite the snot out of me. They are NOT friendly dogs.

i have the 70 270 by one door, the 12 g by another and the Judge 44/410 on my nightstand. Bring it on.

I am sure somone on this site is from my township, I am sure this will get back to the appropriate people. It would be nice if they took this seriously and did something.

Does someone own thses dogs? if theydo then right thm a letter or go up to there face and if u toook pics show them every pic 400 times and start crying and say fi you dont do something about your dogs then say good bye to them and have a shovel and a tombstone ready (or be a little nicer and say please get rid of your dogs they arent nice and they are killing so many of my chickens) <---- that works too if they go on your propert shoot them and say they tried to attack me and my live stock! that works too! Or try all there starting with the nice to the meanest!

Well call animal control if they go on your yard and say they have rabies and they are trying to eat your chickens and have them come and take the dogs instaed of shooting them because haveing 2 lives taken is bad and if they are mean then they will humanely enuthnize them so this was you get a little closure. But just to be like truthful and not say it will get better soon. I have had something like this happen to me. a dog got MY FAVORITE CHICKEN. she was my only chicken. my favorite. a dog got her and i called animal control they took the dog and found it to be agressive and they uthenized it. i was never the same. for 3 months after that i couldnt sleep, i couldnt eat anything but fatty food. i gained 40 pounds. in 3 months. now it has been about 1 year this happened on march 21. so far this year i got over it and i started going to the gym. i lost 50 pounds and i changed my whole life.now i am decideing to get 3 more. im going to get silkies. when one dies i will get a replacement. the owners of the dogs still think that the dog has run away so i told them i called the animal cops and they uthanized it and now they are relieved because they were going to do the same! i was really shocked. dont be like me and gain weight, just get a new chick. spoil this chick so much. smuther it in love. let it sleep in your bed with you do everything with it. i am so sorry.

I know how it is...I lost 9+chickens (at least 6picked off during free ranging & 3 in a coop break in) by my neighbor's dogs. Not to mention, 2 of my CATS were killed and one of my rabbits.

I shoot my neighbor's dogs with pellets whenever I see them come on my property, but I REALLY want to take out our .22 and take their dogs out one by one. (Of course, they'd just replace them)

I hope you will be able to ''dispose of'' those dogs.

I am so very, very sorry about Frack. Such an unfair and sad situation. You have the love and support of so many BYCers who understand that you lost a dear, valued companion in a very tragic way. Be kind to yourself as you go through this loss and know that your efforts to take care of the situation with the dog owners may be able to save the lives of other innocent animals like Frack.

Are you sure that Warden ain't related to that dog owner in some ways? I am SO sorry about your loss of Frack. She sounded like a wonderful hen.

I have a Great Pyr. and she loves to wander. I sure don't enjoy it when Koda wanders off. Soooooooo what I did is take alot of my 2'' by 4'' inch wire and block off the front of the first area of the barn where my chickens are. She's very protective of them and has over 200' square feet of room to wander. After I get paid this Friday from my job at the horse farm I'll be buying a electric fence that'll go around at least a 1/2 acre around the barn for Koda.
