How freakin cute are those!?! Man, those would’ve come in handy when I wasn’t supposed to let her flap her wings. She could’ve snuggled next to Patty and... dangit! I need innovative thinking in my brain.

I will say this; I snorted a bit because in my mind’s eye, I envisioned one heck of a tussle getting it on her. She’d wear it, begrudgingly because she has no arms to do anything about it, but I’d go out the next morning and she would be folded up like origami in that thing and looking at me like it was all MY fault. She’s such a stinker.

I spent an evening reading this thread and it has been a fantastic journey so far. Thank you for sharing OG’s story with us and very happy to hear she is on her way to recovery.

After seeing the adorable sweater post I couldn’t help but comment and also suggest perhaps matching sweaters for OG and New2duckydoodles?

I've enjoyed this thread, your journey, humor & love of animals. I am also so impressed with the outpouring of help & support of the community.
We (my son & I) love ALL our feathered (and non feathered) friends... They are our family. Like you, we spare side eyes, backwards glances, occasionally a "honk back" at our efforts at "good parenting".
I repeatedly tell him when one gets especially testy with him, they are behaving just like he & his sister did when being "compelled" to do something they don't want to do.
One of my all time favorite songs (and movie) is "Bless the Beast and the Children". No truer words are there when it comes to this topic so near & dear to our hearts.

Best of luck on your continued journey in Duck husbandry (I rather resent that word "husbandry". I prefer "wifery" since non of my husband's ever cared for anything or anyone but themselves! )

When my DH and I were dating we went on a walk through a park and a bunch of OBESE ducks started following us, quacking ominously. It was kinda scary until I got the idea to start humming ride of the Valkyrie, then it was hilarious.

Omg I could envision it as you said it: you were leading a pack and charging in!

Poor ducks, why you gotta call them obese though?

Maybe try delightfully fluffy or exceptionally feathered?

I mean... unless they looked like a cooked ham with two toothpicks sticking out

And their pack mentality of ganging up on someone really tells how they get their food.

Some poor unsuspecting picnickers getting stared down, hardcore, by the encroaching ducks.

“Hey there human, I TOO like to picnic.”

(Cue slasher bumbumbumbum sound) and then the people flee.

No, they were F.A.T. Some of them were almost dragging on the ground they were so fat. This was a well traveled playground/park and it looked like the ducks got fed more than was good for them.
