What is a really interesting psychological disorder?

ADD

Really

I would have argued it was environmental, or even imagined 10 years ago.

Now after living with 4 with ADD, I would definately say it is really interesting.

There are lots of articles on the net if you use your school's database, like Proquest. Ask a librarian. You will have access to psych & medical journals. Don't "just do OCD." I have taught community college & suffered through students' uninspired projects. I would suggest that you find out how you can access an academic database; find a psych journal; read alot; select an issue that really catches your interest (because it is freaky or disturbing or very moving) and go from there.
YOU WILL GET AN A!!!!

Bi-polar disorder. It is much more dramatic than people think. A true diagnosis is a person who suffers from extreme highs to psychosis related lows.

I am a big fan of criminal psychology.

I myself have PTSD. It is an interesting one.

Bi-polar is a good one to research.

I find all psychological stuff very interesting. My husband thinks I'm slightly weird for this. I constantly read about it.

How about sociopathic behavior.... As in it has been determined post media blitz of the Columbine shootings that Eric Harris was a true sociopath, not some member of the trench coat mafia or whatever. Very intelligent, not ostrasized like was published in the beginning, middle of the road socially. However not a part of the "in" crowd.. and therein lay part of the problem.

Ooodles of articles about sociopathic behavior. But I would clear this one with your teacher before you start it.

There are lots of weird disorders....unfortunately I don't know the names for many of them.

There is a disorder where you feel parts of your body don't belong to you, people will self amuputate.
There are brain injuries that cause short term memory loss, which means new things can't be processed into memories.
Aphasia caused by strokes.
Austism or austism spectrum disorders, but looking at a particular aspect of the disorder, for example hearing or appearant hearing disablilities associated with autism.
The one that got the book title "the man who mistook his wife for a hat" in which the brain recognition software misfired.
Dibilitating phobias.

Or, depending on your assignment, find a fictional or historical person and diagnose a disorder....Van Gogh/Meniure's Disease, Ophelia/bipolar, Bartleby the Scrivner/depressive.

I notice my spelling stinks today....I'm too tired and lazy to fix it. Please forgive me.
