what is everybodys favorit breed of chicken?and say why you like them?

My favorite breed is Amber Link. They are hardy, great layers and the sweetest little things!

Yes, thank you. My eyes are terrible and it's hard to read posts with weird type. Gosh, I hate getting old.

BTW, DW's favorite is salmon faverolles, the kids favorites are New Hampshire reds & Buff orpingtons.

My favorites are of course SILKIES, but I do love my Coronation Sussex and Light Sussex.

Hey Chickenguy!

So far, my favorite breed of chicken is my Speckled Sussex, Freckles. The reason I like her/the breed so much is because, personally, I feel that she is my most beautiful chicken. And she's hilarious! She is always walking around, making this grouchy, growling sound and it just cracks me up! (I don't know if all SSs are like that, but she's awesome!)

It is so hard to choose though.......I really love them all for one reason or another!

I also have a Speckled Sussex, but she isn't too overly friendly, not mean, just prefers you not to mess with her. But, I have a Buff Orpington and she is a wonderful girl. Loves attention. My Lav Orp Roo is pretty friendly too. Less now that he has all his women, though.

Buff Orpingtons. They are big, calm, friendly and lay nice big brown eggs. Plus we had them when I was growing up and I have a sentimental attachment to them. I also like barred rocks for the same reasons.

My fave is definitely the barred rock. Ever since we've had chickens my favorite is always a barred rock.
