what is everybodys favorit breed of chicken?and say why you like them?

Speckled Sussex-good layers, beautiful, and sweet, talkative birds

Easter Eggers- great layers, fun colors, hearty

Blue Orp--sweet, beautiful, good layers

Ameraucanas--gorgeous! I'm having the best time watching them grow into beautiful, adult birds.

I really like my Austrolorps because they are beautiful, are great layers, hardy in all weathers, moult lightly and stay very pretty throughout the year. The oldest birds in my flock are Aussies and they are such bright and inquisitive birds. They go broody but not excessively, make great moms, and they shine so brilliantly in the sunshine.

I hate to pick just one breed....I just got some Speckled Sussex, which are about the prettiest chickens I've ever seen.

I had a RIR once that I really liked...she liked to be with us and would even roost on the porch. I would carry her down each evening to the coop but she never really liked being with chickens.

I guess I like the birds that show a singular personality, are pretty and have the traits I look for in a bird.

Love my Cochins especially my rooster Elvis. He was suppose to be a pullet but we love him anyway. My Cochins are laid back and don't mind my grandsons bothering them. Love their beautiful, fluffy feathers. Besides Elvis, I have 8 pullets and 1 hen , Priscilla and she just started laying.

Don't tell my Dominique, EEs or Cochins but the 3 Blue Andalusians that I received as replacements for Blue Cochins that were sold out are my favorites. They have so much personality. They follow me everywhere, tell on the other chickens, even greet me at the car in case I throw them some left over fast food, and keep the dogs in line.

I like my Dominiques and EE's because they lay consistently but they just don't have the personality of the others.

I had 2 leghorns and did not like them at all - too flighty.

How is it irratating??? I love silkies even though i have had just one. She isn't at our house right now but we get to visit her often at a friends house. I like them becuase of their silky feathers and because they have good personalities! My next favorite would be Orpingtons becuase of their multi-purposes!

It was the type on the title of this thread when it was first posted. It was jumbled and hard to read, but it's all straightened out. No problems
