What is happening with chick deliveries?

I DVR Glen Beck so I can watch it with my husband when he get home from work. I agree with everything he says and started raising chickens last spring because honestly the writing it on the wall.

Another GB fan here, but I was already thinking about the economy when he began talking about what could happen.

I have been trying to find a brooder buddy for my solo hatch for weeks. The Big R closest to me just got some chicks in today but no ducks or geese yet. Those were supposed to be in Monday.

A guy I know just bought 200+ chicks today from rural king and he doesnt usually even do chickens so I know there is getting to be more demand

Yeah, I find it kind of interesting that as soon as I take interest in this subject everyone else seems to be doing the same. Maybe for me it's not about saving money but not having enough work and feeling unproductive because of it. If I weren't living in a duplex in the outskirts of a city right now, I would so have chickens... Once the lease runs out, who knows, I might. XD

If I lived in a high rise on the upteenth floor I would have astro turf on the balcony, enclosed with chicken wire and probably 3 or 5 chickens. (I think!)

Finally......what we knew all along, the rest of the world are cottoning on to!

They'll all be on here next....wanting our advice.....good job we're all more than happy to give it to them!

I just think it's astounding that it's taken an economic downturn to recruit chicken lovers......I don't get how everyone on the planet doesn't just adore them to start with!!!!!!!!!

I was in the local feed store today. They have sold 400 chicks every mon. since the first of March. Wow! Come on little blue roo I want some babies already. I bet they would sell although I am not sure I could part with them after they are born. Love my fuzzy butts. Jean

I just wonder if when the economy goes back up, the chicken market will go completely flat. B/c I think a lot of the ppl will want to get rid of the chickens, like they no longer need them. Does that make sense? Then the market will be flooded. I guess then the price of chicken in the stores will bottom out also though.

I just picked up 20 today from a feed store 30 miles from me. When i called at 830 there were already people outside of the store waiting! I got there fast and now i have 12 buff orps and 6 americanas! ( i didnt even plan on going...haha)
