White lake, Michigan. (Or detroit)
Hello, everyone!

I am looking to get another chicken, but I am in the city area. That means I need a chicken that is Quiet. I also need a chicken breed that is a pretty decent Egg Layer, preferably brown eggs. That was my families compromise . And last but not least, I need them to be Cold hardy, as I live in Michigan. I was planning on raising them as chicks. I have an ISA brown, an RHW, and some other gamefowl mix. But sadly, I have to get rid of her since she is too loud and I am getting complaints.:hitBut if you live around White Lake, Michigan, feel free to contact me!

Thanks for all of your guy's help!

wow... now that is a loaded set of questions... really, there are so many breeds that fit your parameters. Basically place all their names on a dart board and toss a dart. Whichever one is the lucky breed, go get one. Wishing you success in your search.

Dominiques are supposed to be nice. I like my wyandotte cross girl, but she's a cross, so I can't speak for the breed.

Australorps are, in my experience, about as noisy as a girl can get. They egg-song incessantly.

I live in Waterford (not allowed to have chickens either) and I’ve had great luck with my Orpingtons and Cochins. They are quiet and content and have done very well in the cold temps we’ve had! Hope this helps :)
