What is the strangest thing you've fed your chickens?

I am currently considering giving my chckens left over sausage pizza. I've given them squash and fruit salad. They ate my bleeding heart before could move it. It was just a small plant and I forgot it was there until it was too late. They seem fine but I won't let them in the future.

EVERYTHING.... My girls eat left overs constantly ... I almost gave them some fried green tomatoes the other day but thought they might make em sick ,.. But other then that , they eat anything

I just tossed in a small branch off the apple tree that had a small bagworm nest on it

worms were out, yuck

I would have to say this ties with the leftover spaghetti sauce

This morning I fed my chickens a left over taco from taco bell. They turned their beaks up at it.

Well, this is pretty strange, but chickens LOVE grapes! When I fed them to my older ones that lay eggs, they all rushed toward the grapes. The rooster saw the grapes first and called the hens over. When all the hens came, there was a BIG fight.

I just threw mine some Rice Krispies cereal....it was old and stale and gives them something to peck for.

I threw out scraps for dogs...chicken bones..the chickens took off with some of the bones, they pick off the meat that was left on them! I agree they will eat almost anything. My poor dogs have to fight the chickens for the scraps.

It is fun to watch!!
