This is on behalf of my sister. We are states away so I can't inspect on my own. She just noticed this. I'm not even sure WHAT it could be, it's under the turkey's chest.
It seems to have randomly showed up within a couple of days because she hasn't noticed it before. She says it is "fused" to the turkey's skin, part of her chest the way feathers would be if they grew out of the skin.
The turkey does not have any pain reaction when she touches it, but feels harder to the touch than her surrounding feathers. No change in behaviour or eating! We are totally confused (she is the only turkey my sister owns!) Thank you!
(The turkey's chest is wet by the way, so she could get a closer look through the feathers. Other than this, her plumage is healthy and shiny. We are very concerned.)
