Given the age of the chick, more likely would be something that was eaten, impacted the crop causing the chick to be ill, then somehow worked its way through the digestive system, then was pooped out with regular fecal matter.

Suggestion: If you post any more photos, use a familiar item, such as a coin or a pencil to show scale. Then when posting, select the "Full size image" for better detail.

Thanks, will do in the future. And thanks all for the suggestions. Will keep posted with however it turns out, as maybe will help someone else in the future.

You say she’s doing better? Eating and drinking but still has watery poops? What are you feeding her?
Yes, she seems back to normal tonight but was doing better since yesterday. Thursday she had all the symptoms of imminent death. She's been eating Purina Start and Grow Medicated since birth. Over the last couple of weeks we started with some mealworms.

Really interesting thread. Thanks so much for posting it and helping us all to learn. I think @dawg53 has nailed it. I think the thickened cecal wall is due to damage from coccidia and it has sloughed off and been shed with the contents a bit like intestinal lining is shed. I've not seen this before. So pleased you got Corid into it and it seems to have been resolved. :fl

Since there are two cecal pouches, that makes some sense. Having the penny in the image helps a lot for scale. Hopefully now they are all cleared and recovery will go well. While I've dealt with coccidiosis, never had one like this, so very interesting.
