Made of wood and piece of wood are two different things to most people...

If it is composed out of wood, wouldn't that make it an entity that is what it is comprised of?

First this is not all wood, look closely..

Secondly, even if it was piece of wood, that implies a board. A board implies a flat piece of wood with nothing done do it beyond cutting it into said board...

This at the very least is several pieces of wood.
