What is Wrong With BYC Today? - "Please enter something before you submit your post"

I have also been having some of the above problems, yesterday and today.

When I go to the Reply box at the bottom ot the thread and type in a reply, then push Submit, I get a pop up box that says "Please enter something before you submit your post". I have been closing that box, then going to preview instead, then it will let me submit without the pop up. I have had this problem on multiple threads, but not every time I submit. That has happened as recently as now (attempting to post this reply).

I was also initially missing the toolbar at the top of the Reply box this morning, but is is back now.

Others on the Michigan thread have reported problems using Multi quote in the last 24 hours, but I seldom use it so have not had personnal experience with that issue.

I use IE 9.0.8112

I had a "burp" from BYC like you all mentioned and I restarted the computer and had no problems. I had Google running as well as the IE running if I can not get the Google to run. I had a few blank pages that comes up with "Internet Exployer can not access to the website, server error" message. So I come back later and it is fine.

Nifty have to burp it once a while but we have to really burp our computer more often when we access into this website. Just be persisent finding the problem and do some trouble shooting that Nifty has posted elsewhere. Somehow, somewhere, we WILL get you on here!

This will not let me quote.
Then when I type my message in it says that I need to post something to submit, even though I already have. I have to go to preview then resubmit it.
in order for me to quote, pm, or even just reply, i'm having to reload the page and retype. and even then it doesn't always work... this is on multiple computers using ie 8, 9, and the latest version of firefox... cache is cleared daily, antivirus up to date, etc.

edit: it took 4 tries to even post to this thread... BUT when it popped the message, without clearing the message i hit preview, taking me to the full page editor. then it posted just fine. going to test that theory again, but i think it's something with the in-page reply rather than full page.

Thanks for the info everybody! If you are having problems please make sure to review the following:

• What is the URL of the page that you got the error or had problems?
• Did you receive any error messages? if yes, what were they? (please copy and paste the entire message, screenshots are best)
• What were the exact steps you took before having the problem? Please be as specific as possible so we can do exactly what you did.
• How long has it been happening? If only one time, what day and time did it happen?
• Which browser and version are you using (eg., Firefox 3.5.9, Internet Explorer 7, etc.)
• Have you logged out, deleted your internet cache / browser history of files, logged back in, and tried again?
• Have you tried a different browser (we suggest Firefox or Chrome)?

All that info is vital for us to effectively discover and troubleshoot the problem. If you are having problems and haven't tried all those items and/or replied with answers to the questions, please do so!

Same problem for me. Not doing anything different than usual and it happens almost anywhere so it's not a specific thread. I type in my content then hit submit like usual and get the error message stated by others above. Same issue, also, with quotes. Sometimes it works and sometimes not.

I don't believe it is thread-specific. Sorry to repeat, but it seems to be happening anywhere with no rhyme or resaon.

IE 8 ver. 8.0.7601.17514

same thing just happenned on this thread while trying to post this message. both times resolved by using 'preview' and then submitting.

edit: and this while editing the above post... toolbar missing, and it converted it to html (i think)
