What is wrong with this chicken?

Processing our meat birds today. Going along nicely and then I cut into this one. What the heck is wrong with this bird? The b breast meat is the only place I saw it. The leg & thigh meat seemed normal. Nothing smells bad.

Out of caution, I discarded all of it and disinfected my equipment prior to moving to the next bird. Has anyone seen this before?

Yes GM, from flapping too much. Scares from mowers, predators and such.

Should you not eat it? Can you feed it to your dogs? Never heard of it till now. Is it chronic or acute?

Apparently it’s edible. Just not appetizing to look at.

I rescued it from the trash for pets.

It's dead tissue. Necrotic and stating to rot due to lack of blood flow and oxygen. Best to not consume. It would never pass usda inspected for reference.
