I have an 18 X 12ft coop ( around 216 sq ft) and I think my run is 12 X 40ft (so around 720sq ft). I currently only have 28 chickens that have plenty of room. This March I'm increasing my flock to 60. This will put me at 3.5 sq ft per bird inside and 12sq ft per bird outside, plus free range of course. That is if they all make it. My estimate is a loss of 1 bird per month. At least that was my experience this past year. All to dogs unfortunately at different times. But if they all make it long term they will have enough room.
