what is your favorite breed?

My speckled sussex is my favorite chicken, ever (ok, in my 5 months of keeping chickens). Anytime someone comes to the house they hone in on her and ask what she is because she's so beautiful. I have 33 chickens, most of any breed is 4, and everyone likes her. She's also got a great personality, she's like a dog. She followed me all the way down to the mailbox and back today.
This was her still young, she's got more white now.

I also adore turkens. They're sweet and look like gypsies to me.

Silver Laced Wyandottes-personality and great layers. They are dressed in classy black and white with rose combs.

I can't imagine having the space to keep 25 different breeds of chicken! Lucky.

I don't have any yet so I can't say anything about personality of ease of keeping but these are what I'm interested in getting:

Welsummers (which you've already chosen)
Delaware
Buff Orps
Silver Penciled Wyandotte (so much prettier than the laced, I think!)
Cubalaya (BF thinks they're stunning)
Japanese bantams
Black Copper Marans
Serama

Just some ideas.

Well- it sounds like you are trying to assemble a standard sized pen- so...of my standard birds- I love love love my Russian Orloffs. They are sweet gentle birds and very unique looking. I also adore my barred rocks and welsummers. I tend to like the more docile breeds.

If you were looking at bantams- my favorite of all time of all birds is the Dutch bantam. Dainty, inquisitive, and so very sweet and talkative.
