So what's everyone's Christmas Eve traditions?
I'm going out tomorrow to pick up an order of tamales for our Christmas Eve dinner. Thank god for the minimal cooking of beans and rice! My daughter and her boyfriend will be staying with us and helping do the early prep for Christmas dinner so there won't be much to do the next day. My son will join us but hard to say when he may drift in.
We'll have breakfast Christmas morning and then my other daughter's family will join us after they see what Santa left for my grandson under their tree.
I'm putting presents under the tree today since I don't expect my grandson until Christmas. And at 9 I doubt he'd be shocked to see them there before Santa arrives. I think he's more or less letting us believe in Santa at this point. But, just in case, I won't stuff his stocking until Christmas eve.
Those are very fun cookies! My ugly sweater wearing cookies.

remember my meat debacle.... Welll....
I have my prime rib cooking... a stint in the refrigerator firmed it right up... The lemon juice and salt bath took away the slimyness.
I salted the heck out of it and pressed fresh cracked pepper all over it and shoved Garlic cloves in the meat and the fat making a grid about every two inches.... I DO NOT detect any off putting smells... Going to cook it well done just for safety... Slice and taste it when It comes out...
if its good... in the freezer it will go till Christmas dinner.
I still have the Cornish hens on standby...

Thank you, they were fun to decorate also. Those are very fun cookies!
Do you have any idea how many flies you have eaten in your lifetime. There's probably a dozen in every bottle of spaghetti sauce.![]()
Did you know if a bug bites you, such as a mosquito, you actually acquire some of their DNA?And this is why I rarely use any canned foods!!!!
ETA: But yes...my mother cooked with canned goods all the time! I'm probably half fly by now, and that could explain my aversion to eating them.![]()
Okay, let's turn this gross out thread back to Christmas please.Did you know if a bug bites you, such as a mosquito, you actually acquire some of their DNA?
I don't find it gross, it's science.Okay, let's turn this gross out thread back to Christmas please.![]()
Thank you!!! But, yes. Some peoples actually eat bugs and I don't think it's out of necessity. I was served soup in Hong Kong that I'm pretty sure had some sort of sea cockroach swimming in it!!! No. I didn't eat it. Didn't eat the chicken feet or head either. In short, I left a very expensive restaurant hungry! After the swimmer I was basically done!I don't find it gross, it's science.
Okay, back to Christmas.
