What is your favorite duck breed?

I am very interested in Anconas.
We have black, chocolate, and lilac at the moment. I wish I would have gotten more, but I do intend in breeding them next spring. The other little guy is a WH x KC that one of my chicken hens hatched out 5 weeks ago along with her chicks. I got the anconas to keep him/her company.

Such darling cute babies!!! :love

Muscovies are my favorite! They are so adorable and have amazing personalities. :)

I've been doing some research on Khaki Campbell ducks lately, and everywhere I read, they're eggcellent layers! I've read that on average they lay 280-300 eggs a year which is even better than your average chicken! I would like to add some to my flock if I can find a good source to get them from. :yesss:

Everyone has a favorite or two. I am new to raising and trying several. For many reasons. We want eggs. We want meat. We want some just to enjoy watching (pretty, unique, personality) and even befriending. Please tell me what your favorite breeds are and why. I will post the same question in the chicken breed forum as well.
I like our pekins and brown khaki campbells. The campbells are great egg layers and are always funny to watch in the pond. The white pekins are also great egg layers but make good meat birds to.

Yes the KCs are excellent layers, but definitely not a social breed if that's what you're wanting. Our local TSC usually always has them during chick days. If you're wanting a calmer bird that plays just as well if not better than a KC, I would suggest a WH. They are actually derived from the KC, but were bred to be calmer.

Thanks for letting me know! I just want them for egg laying purposes. The Muscovies can make up for them being not as social! :) Are the WHs as good of layers as the KCs?
