Did you know that long coat chis shed less then short coat chis? Why, because short coat chis have twice as many hair folicles as long coat chis therefore they shed twice as much.

Thank you I am so sad that he is gone. Here is a pic of him about 2 weeks before he died.

Please excuse the leaves and twigs he loved to roll in the leaves. I always loved the little red tuft of fur on his head that stuck up. When we took him to be cremated then also did a fur clipping and a paw print for us. I got to keep the tuft from his head and I am glad that I have it with his (large) paw print.

To be honest, my favourate kind of dog is a stuffed one:)

Anytime we go anywhere there is a dog I am the first one they're going to jump on...kind of ironic.

Tikki I LOVE your photography...did you take those yourself? Awesome!

I didn't know that! I didn't really chose Tessa... She came to me as a last resort before being euthanized. She was a street dog in Hartford CT when she was picked up by the dog officer. A friend of mine goes to local shelters there and gets one small dog at a time, fixes them up and finds them homes. CT has a 7 DAY RULE... not very long! Anyway, so Tessa had already been adopted out twice and had been returned both times in less than a week for fear aggression and biting. Since I have a degree in animal science (horse and dog training) I said I'd take her.

It was REALLY hard at first... but it's been 5 years now and she is the best... even if she still does nip my MIL occasionally...

I'm the only one who can "invade her personal space"... but she is a kind hearted dog... and OBSESSED with balls!! That made training her a LOT easier... show her a tennis ball and she'll snap out of a snarky mood like THAT! I've even taken her on airplanes and in canoes with me!

She's awesome

Thank you. Sugar is such a good girl. When we got her she was in heat and soon pregnant (couldn't get her to go in my house, she was VERY afraid of people then.) Once I gained her trust, she became Mama's girl! She is so sweet, hence her name. She is also a very quick learner and only wants to please me in every way. I'm so fortunate to have her! Shame on whoever had her before... it was painfully obvious that she had been abused.

2 of my others were adopted from animal shelters (Mitzi & Cinnamon.) I'm such a sucker for an animal in need.
