What kind of chick is this?

yeah it is a black cochin we had some of them sadly ours turned out to be a nuts broody who would get broody like every 2 months (the rest of our cochins were not as broody as her)

well right now I am testing to see if they are fertile (Golden laced and bufflaced are the only fertile eggs) 12 of 13 golden last I candled were alive and 2 of 3 buff laced are fertile (the buff laced are bantam standard mixes) today is day 20 and right now I hear alot of peeping

Black Cochin or Black Langshan. When did they start putting an extra toe on Cochins?

It is a Black Cochin. Cochins only have 4 toes.

my bad i asked dh and he said 5 toes,lol. i just looked at my frizzle cochins and they have 4 also. haha i'll tell him when he comes back from the store he was wrong.

it's not a langshan they have markings and more yellow around the eyes and face.

I don't know, but it sure is a cutie! It's going to have feathery feet. CUTE!
