Ever see the rooster in the "Ambien" Ad on TV? A big Red guy, small head, black tail and HUGE waddles (they always give me a giggle!)

What kind IS he??

It is a single comb Road Island Red as far as I know.

I am SURE they picked him for his "comic relief" qualities as opposed to how pretty he was...

yep, single comb rhode island red.. looks dubbed. so frostbite? they could have picked a better breed (and bigger waddles etc) But to the outside world. Rhode island reds are the only type of chickens
