What made you happy today?

If they were supposed to all be pullets, shame on Cackle. If they were straight-run, the Hush Rule still applies!
I ordered 14 pullets, one cockerel. They gave us 21 total. Out of six stocking stuffers, only two cockerels? I'll take it! I really don't mind extra cockerels, we eat chicken around here and Aussies make pretty good eating.

I cancelled an order for sexed legbar chicks last month and my big blue hen (who hasn't gone broody in years) went broody the next day(you can't make this stuff up!Lol)I didn't get the 5 legbar hens I've wanted for years but I did get 5 legbar crosses. I might replace my rooster too because I got a couple cockerels too

But ... WHYYYY? :barnie Why did you cancel your order? And why did you get legbar x's when you really want purebreds?

Or is this really a nunya, as in nunya bizness?

I bought a legbar rooster and 2 other breeds for my main flock in 2023 .This flock lays brown and white eggs and their chicks will lay light blue or green. The pure legbars will be hatched from a breeder stock instead of ordered from a hatchery

My muppets. Again. They're just pure joy right now. Calm and peaceful. Love to jump up on the bench with us and snuggle. Wednesday is food/water refresh day, and they're always so excited. They need last dibs on the stuff that's being taken away (because I move it to the bench while I swap things out), then go gonzo when the fresh food drops. Same with water. They act like they've been trekking through the Sahara. I even shared some garden tomato with them, and they actually ate it! A rarity for the picky little babies.

Also, Hornet's been an ace layer and is singlehandedly filling my Muppet Eggs holder. Good girl!
