What poultry product do you wish you had?

So ... is there no point in having the chicks vaccinated, then? Waste of money?

So its kinda like the flu vaccine then. The birds can still get sick and die from it, despite being vaccinated.

Dang, I got off topic. Sorry yall
Yes, and yes.

In fact, vaccinated birds are a threat to your flock because now they actively are shedding the virus because they are carriers.

Medicines that really work. I have wasted so much money and suffered such heartache treating sick chickens. Nothing helps them. Why cant science focus a little time on avian health care instead of considering fowl dispensable creatures. We who have them as pets dont consider them dispensable.
I'm going to school to be a Veterinarian, poultry health and medicine specialist.

I'm not sure this would excite you Sci-Fiers, but I'd like an outdoor feeding station with cover that actually keeps the rain out. We will incorporate this in our coop design next spring.
I use a Rubbermaid product that has doors that open wide. I placed a storage container in it with holes cut out on the side and put the food on the storage container up to the bottom of the cutouts. At night I can close the doors to keep rats out of the good and the whole setup keeps the rain out. A lot of trial and error but it works.

Yes pics! We have a mouse issue on the property here. This sounds useful!

I don't free range my birds because of aerial predators - Bald Eagles and hawks - but if I did, I would want some kind of invisible fence like you can get for your dog. Wouldn't it be great to lay down a line on your property and know that your birds would not go into the neighbors yard? I don't know if a chicken shock collar would work, but maybe a shock leg band would keep them in the invisible fencing. Of course, it would have to be affordable and reusable as backyard flocks turn over much faster than the family dog.
Aerial predators are indeed the worst. I don't free range my chickens either because of them. We are surrounded by beautiful woods but with that comes a lot of hawks.
