I'd say it's perfect. I like the ad, the person took quality pictures and added personal bits about each of them and they are obviously healthy, curious AND real holland lops(that is always important :p ). Fair price too, I'd say all lights are green. Maybe some one else will see something different but I dunno, it looks good to me.

Fantastic. I've sent them an e-mail. We'll see how it goes.

Hi everyone. I would really like to get into rabbits and saw these on CL. They are Holland Lops.

I really like them, but wondered what all you rabbitiers thought of them.

Thanks!

Some important questions I asked myself before starting rabbits are:
Are you ready for rabbits? Have you figured out a rough draft of your plan for raising them?
Why do you want Holland Lops? They are only a pet breed so what do you plan to do with the kits that are born? Is there a good market for pet rabbits in your area?
Do you have cages set up for them? Are you ready for the extra time/money commitment? Have you done your research on raising rabbits and rabbit health?

I personally like to do some research before getting into any new animals. I put together a notebook on diet, housing, etc. from the information I collected. I also wrote out a "business" plan to get a guesstimate as to how much money I would need to start up and maintain this hobby. I already had pet rabbits for quite some years, so I knew a bit about rabbits, but I wanted to make sure that I started off on the right foot and learned as much as I could. Trust me, health problems are not fun, it's nice when you can avoid them altogether.
After all that, I began looking around for rabbits.

That's just how I went about the getting my breeding rabbits, some people like to do things completely different and that's fine.

I hope you have success with your rabbit venture.

Th
photos of the large litter. one passed, so now there are ten. however, the one that passed was clearly fed and well - - it was fat. it was at the bottom of the pile, so maybe it got squashed? From what I can tell, the doe is doing a great job so far. Hope it continues. just took the photos and wanted to share. silver foxes are whitmore farms stock. parents have excellent silvering and are of good size. i am curious to see how these turn out. [/quot They are gorgeous. Thank you so much for sharing. So beautiful.

I would say no if u wanted to raise show Hollands.

Took a crappy dresser from Ikea and turned it I to a rabbit hutch today...

Still have some external work to do to it, it'll definitely need some sort of roof to go over the top for the winters we have here. Otherwise the wood will damage I'm sure.

Quote: Thank you! This was very helpful!

I am actually getting back into rabbits after a few years of not having them. I really like lops, and having two nice Hollands for pets would be nice. I only want to have two, and use their.... um... droppings for garden fertilizer. I have a hutch, a rabbit run, and all of the other necessities for bunny care. I don't plan on breeding them, but that may be a plan in the future.

I think those bunnies are very cute and it's good that they're registered, but....

None of the pictures show a side "show" view. Like this;

(She's a little strangely posed, but I was having a hard time posing her since I'd only owned her a couple of weeks.)

That way you can see the set of the back, the tail, the shape of the head... I would say the Hollands in those pictures have great coats and are healthy but it's impossible to judge their back shape and they look to be a little long. Also the faces are too thin. Hollands have as much of a bowling ball face as body. On a properly bred Holland you would have trouble seeing the eyes looking straight on, but on those rabbits you can clearly see the eyes straight on every time. Some of them have a BIT better conformation on this, but that second photo the face is just really thin.

Here's a good page on holland conformation. If you can't get a shot of the hollands at least close to properly posed, don't get 'em for show.

Upon further review the ears are also too long. Lots of faults, wouldn't do well in the show ring.
