Congrats! Are they in a nestbox? I always remove the nest box completely out of the cage when I was poking around or checking on kits. This way it didn't look like something was entering the cage and attacking the kits. More like, Oh my where did my kits go? Oh wait here they are. LOLI believe theres 7,8 or 9 in there, I didnt want to fuss too much just make surre thay were all there and ok

They look really cute, how's momma doing? If she has 9 that's alot of mouths to feed. What breed are they?![]()

Gotcha! Well I'm sure that fine if you have wood flooring in the hutch instead of wire. Thats so cool though. I'm so excited for you to have kits!!!I dont know the breed Im guess flemish NZ mix from my 15 years of non experience (lol) Shes actually doing sooooo great, lots of milk, Ive been giving her tons of alfalfa dandelion weeds, escarole from my garden, pears from my tree, and bean plant leaves , and calf manna mixed in her pellets, she eats sooo much now and drinks alot of water, Im very proud of how good shes been doing...AND I did a head count just now SHE DID HAVE 9 ,wow
Nope not in a nest box unfortunately, This is her first litter, I got her sunday from a feed store, I had a feeling she was preg, even though they swore she was only with females, Shes around 6-7 months old at best, and well She was HUGE when I got her and I noticed the night before she kindled the kits moving, put in a nest box, she didnt want anything to do with it, so to avoid confusion I took it out, I have wood floors in my hutches so its ok and she made the huge nest in a corner wood on each side lol...I have never had much success with nest boxes EVER in15 years so I kind of gave up on them, and most of my hutches I make with the attached nesting box with a hole and door in the back ya know what I mean?
I find that there isn't much difference the quality of rabbits is the same at my shows there are more open people that always help with youth questions.Yeah I was just checking out the ARBA show list for my area and all the show are in October through to December... I've never been to a real rabbit show and would love to go to the national convention some time...
I adore Lionheads and Netherland dwarfs, their both so sweet... is there any difference in showing under youth rather than in a open class???
