Nice to hear from some other SD folks!!!!! I keep thinking it would be fun to start a meetup group or something for SD chicken people; I don't personally know anyone who thinks this is a "normal" hobby. I am in extreme North County and usually go to "Country Feed Store."

Why doesn't San Diego have a chicken club? I know that there are quit a few of us on here.

yep, i gotta say.....san diego's got ideal weather!! Just today, while looking out my kitchen window at my 'girls' i said..."look how beautifuly peaceful they are out there. What lucky girls we have"... They are just so goofie and loven this weather.. Yea, we're lucky too!!... Oh, and i shop at Carters in lakeside usually.. They have the organic food i use..

That's funny, every time I checked on my girls today I found them laying on the grass just basking in the sun!

I'm just a few miles north of San Diego County in the Temecula/Murrieta area. We couldn't ask for better weather!

If anyone else is mid riverside cty, winchester has a feed store that's pretty good, and they actually know something about chickens.

For those not in CA, don't worry, in summer we all get to fight heat stroke in out flocks and rigging up coop misters... as in hot, damp chickie poo....

Hey Serrin,
If it makes you feel any better, my home town (Melbourne, Australia) is about to be hit with 3 days in a row over 115 degrees

well yeah if you live out in the DESERT!! We are 10 min from the beach so ocean breezes. The sucky part is the AM ocean fog/marine layer. But I would gladly move to have a big farm!!!! Someday...
