Oh, thanks, I have no idea. Yes I’ll be holding onto all 6 until I hear crowing. We had to give away 2 as we are only allowed 6 where we live so I thought best to do it earlier than later. No it doesn't. Males don't develop specific feathering until at least 12 weeks.View attachment 1598405 Just found these beautiful ginger feathers coming on the middle of the back of our grey Araucana chick. So I guess that confirms it’s a Cockerel.
Ok thanks. I’ll repost on this tread as they keep growing.Your chicks are too young, especially since they have silkie in them. Silkies are slow developers, so it would be a good idea to wait a bit longer to be sure. Why don't you post pics of their combs at 8-10 weeks?
