What should I name my future Holland girl?

Alrighty! I'm getting Barred Hollands! I plan to really bond with one girl.

All my chickens have to be named after book or historical characters or have some important meaning. Here's what I've come up with:

• Lucy - from The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. If you haven't read this, you should but she's a sweet and gentle young girl.
• Danni - from a book I'll bet most of you have never heard of, but Danni is spunky and active and funny.
• Independence - I'm sure you know what this means! Indie for short.

You keep them? What have been your experiences? If you raised them from chicks, could you tell their genders at all?

I don’t keep barred Hollands but a friend of mine adopted some once. They were hens and already were sexed, but overall a great breed . They were sweet, calm, had great personalities, were fun to watch, and were friendly, and didn’t bully her other chickens at all.
