First of all, the other 3 dogs belong to my parents. They're the ones who take care of all of them. So I just wanted a dog that could be
my own that I could take care of and take to parks, shopping etc.. My Golden Retrievers are very well socialized, the last time we took our male to the park a bunch of kids came up to pet him and he just sat there and let them rub all over him.. Our other one is exactly the same way. Our dogs are greatly loved and taken care of. It's not that I don't like my other dogs, it's just that I want a dog to call my own. So for anyone to say that I get dogs and then just toss them out like trash because I wasn't satisfied with them is just mean, and you make other people on this forum think that I don't like or take care of my animals when I do. They don't just roam all of my 10 acres.. We keep them close to the house so we know where they are and they have a whole acre and a half to run around on..
And I agree that for
@MomJones to say that "You'd probably be better off with a stuffed toy?" was totally rude and uncalled for. I just asked for recommendations on small dog breeds and made a few specifications on what I was looking for, and people are attacking me and claiming I don't take care of my dogs and that I shouldn't have one.
Like I SAID in a previous post, I would have time to socialize and train my dog since I am home all day, and I go to town a lot during the week so I can take her around the stores, etc.. I totally understand that dogs bark, but I just didn't want one that will be yapping at people and other dogs when I take her out because people do get annoyed and I don't blame them. I know all it takes is socialization but I don't know if other breeds are just more prone to it than others.
All I asked for was opinions on breeds. I don't know why some of you are being rude and making false accusations against me.. Do you actually say those kinds of things to peoples faces? Or just on the internet?
Anyhow I appreciate everyone trying to help me on here and giving me their experiences. I think I'm actually going to get a larger breed.
