Thank you very much for that link! - I agree, Black-Racer looks as the best match. Glad it is not a venomous snake, but still i fear for my ducklings.http://www.whatsnakeisthat.com/category/region/northeast/west-virginia/
Best guess based on this website, is a black racer. Looks like you only have a couple of venomous snakes in WV and that's a rattle snake and copper head. Definitely doesn't look like those to me.
According to the web-site @Hobbits Mommie sent us there are no buttermilk racers here, so i think a black-racer…Do you have buttermilk racers in WV? If not I would go with the black racer suggestion. Black racers will chase you.
I can ask Blanca Duck to do so. Poor snake…Just had a thought. Can you safely look under your porch?
And tiny ducklings…Looks like a black snake to me. Good things to have around because they'll eat copperheads.

I'm ok with snakes, they can eat all the rodents around my house - i know Blanca Duck will disagree with that, she wants all mice in her belly - but when it comes to my ducks and ducklings i get mad, just ask the raccoons here. - Wait, you can no longer ask them…Some types of snakes will lunge at you in an attempt to scare you away, thinking you a predator. Please don't kill them for it, they aren't actually trying to hurt you. They don't even intend to bite (which wouldn't cause you much harm anyway, no harm if you're wearing pants), it's just a bluff.
