What Special Treat or Yummy Did Your Flock Get Today?

Apricots....our 2 trees are covered and I'm giving the girls the ones that fall on the ground that are not good enough for the freezer. They pick the seeds clean!

Oh, forgot to add...I have one that was pecked and has a wound that is healing so she is getting yogurt and BOSS as treats to help her heal and grow back feathers.

chocolate cake?? They're going to get fat and sassy! Pretty soon demanding..because chocolate effects you that way ya know! More chocolate, more...
My little ones got the regular..plus most of a roll I was eating. Oh, they know when I have something, they won't leave me alone until they get some of what ever it is I'm eating when I go out there..if I'm eating something. Also, blueberries, and grapes.
Weather can't make up it's mind here. Cooled down pretty good. Will hold off on giving them more watermelon until tomorrow.

It was hot and humid and we had thunderstorms today so I treated my flock to grapes AND I mixed a bowl full of layer crumbles with milk and yogurt. 40 of the happiest and messiest chickens you EVER saw.

What is BOSS? Mine had a baked sweet potatoe and some scrambled eggs. They also had some stale cheerios...

They hear my back door open, next thing I know, I have all my girls running to the corner of the coop area. Always brings a smile to my face..then we talk. I ask them what kind of treat they want today...and they say, anything, anything!! Just now please!

Weeds of any kind, radishes (green and red parts) carrots (or carrot peels) cabbage tomatos bread grapes mellons....anything vegie or fruit mine love. banana, and corn The only things they haven't liked yet is celery. I save all my peels and veggie trimings for them while cooking. When I thin out the garden plants they get thoes too.

It was a good day to be a chicken at our place today- Penne pasta with alfredo sauce with small bits of chicken mixed in, plus big slices of cantaloupe, seeds and all, for dessert!

I was talking about chicken signs (like, Warning, attack chickens, etc) with my DH and after I fed the girls he became reflective and said to me, "Honey, maybe our sign could say "We love fat chicks, we feed them all the time!!'
