Mine got leftover turkey slices and leftover meatballs today.

Mine got a trio of regular, garlic and red pepper hummus today. I guess when I get home Ill find out which they liked the best.

All of yesterday leftovers...... couscous, meatballs, strawberries, bread and all the babyfood my 9 month old rejected (incl. leftover formula)!

My girls got a handful of fresh lettuce and a handful of fresh spinach leaves (what's left of them) from the garden. My husband and son moved some old stuff that was piled up in the backyard today, and beneath it was a plethora of earthworms. Each of the 5 pullets got their own worm! They usually also get our after-dinner leftovers, as long as it's not a lot of processed junk and sodium and fake food.

We recently discovered, however, they like hamburger. They pecked the living daylights out of each other over a little piece the first time we put it in the pen to see what they'd do.

Sometimes Bertha (the ameraucana/EE whatever she is) turns up her beak at treats. While the rest of my girls clammor for mealworms when I bring them, she could care less, take 'em or leave 'em. She'll show more interest in them early in the morning when she's hungry, but for the most part, she just kinda find something else to do when the rest of the flock is having a mealworm feeding frenzy.

She'd rather have the tofu.

I went over to our old house yesterday and gleaned stuff out of the garden, so they got lots of bolted plants: lettuce, chard, mustard and broccoli. They LOVE the seed pods on the mustards.

lamb and lentil soup. they were skeptical at first, but then ate it all up.

Baby spinach leaves, raisins, BOSS, and a couple of lawnmower bags of freshly cut grass. They freak out when we bring the black bag into the run, but love the clippings.
