Asking on here is a good idea! @MROO I think pippin's from the UK though :)

Hope your mites go away!
Luckily, there's an active BYC community in the UK, too. Somebody "Across The Pond" should have something interesting!
And ditto on the mites. They're way down, but I'm still fighting residuals ... the downside of having an old wooden playhouse for a coop and run ... lots of nice little nooks and crannies for little nasties to hide in. It's probably time to paint again. That seems to be the only thing that really gets rid of the little buggers!

Good news. Nails need to grow just a one more millimeter until I can get my d'uccles! By the time I get back home from holiday they will be long enough!
So @the_peanut_coop, it's nearly time for a d'uccle hatch a long!
I know seramas got more votes but I think d'uccles will suit my flock and environment more and @AngBantamLuv sent me a bunch of pics and I fell in love.

Actually, after posting those pics.. it has me wondering if i should bother with any other breeds!! Was thinking of another bantam cochin (i have one already that seems to need a cochin buddy), and then maybe some bantam easter eggers... but..... D'uccles... 🥺

I'll need to sort out the coop, rehome polish roosters. So it'll be a few more months but It'll be no later than christmas!

Bantam cochin! Small, and the sweetest bird you will ever own. And, if you want laced birds, which it seems like you do, you could get a gold laced bantam cochin or something.
How sweet are they? I'm thinking of having a cochin/pekin as my plan B since they are all over ebay.
How big are they? I know they are bantams but some are bigger than others and I'm lookimg for one one the smaller side.
Any photos would help, thanks

Same questions for you as well. And photos please.

Any ideas for a plan B in case i can't get d'uccles?
Must be:
  • VERY FRIENDLY
  • Bantam
  • Easy to find
  • Not skittish
@AngBantamLuv how are Cochins? Are they friendly?
Cochins are great. They are on the larger side for bantams, but they are definitely still very small. They are very friendly (some people say they are the friendliest breed). My rooster sits on my lap and loves to be cuddled.
They aren't skittish at all. They're easy to handle and take care of.
